About Kirk Eye Center

    Dr. Scott Kirk and Dr. Kent Kirk are the second generation of Kirk ophthalmologists serving the western suburbs of Chicago. The Kirk Eye Center was built upon a reputation of using the latest technology to properly diagnose and treat diseases of the eye. If the patient's treatment requires surgery, our patients know that the same attention, commitment and quality outcome received in the practice is the standard in surgery as well. 1. Experienced Surgeons

Dr. Scott Kirk and Dr. Kent Kirk are among the most experienced and well-trained surgeons in Illinois. Together they have performed thousands of surgical procedures. In addition to both doctors being board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, they are involved in the profession. Dr. Scott Kirk serves on the Board of Directors of the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society, is a surveyor for the American Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), the national Medical Director for NovaMed Eye Care Management, Inc, a member in American College of Eye Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Chicago Ophthalmological Society.

Dr. Kent Kirk is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American College of Eye Surgeons, the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance and the Chicago Ophthalmological Society. More important, Dr. Kent Kirk not only performs refractive surgery, he has had it done on his own eyes!

Kirk Eye Center is recognized as a center of excellence by major pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Our surgeons are sought out by manufacturers to conduct clinical trials on new medications and technologies.

2. Advanced Technology

Kirk Eye Center invests in the very latest laser, surgical and pre-op testing equipment available on the market. From laser vision correction surgery to cataract surgery to general eye care procedures, Kirk Eye Center is committed to being up-to-date on the newest and best treatments and technologies.

3. Surgery Center

In 1986, the present location was opened in River Forest with Dr. Scott Kirk and Dr. Kent Kirk joining their father. The new location includes an AAAHC accredited, Medicare certified and state licensed Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), offering patients a surgery center dedicated specifically to ophthalmic procedures. Our ASC offers the patient parking close to the door and no need for the patient to have a battery of pre-admission tests.

As a proud member of the community for over 47 years, Kirk Eye Center is pleased to participate and support many local organizations and events. Today, Dr. Scott Kirk and Dr. Kent Kirk are joined by Dr. Dean Bauer, OD. The office is committed to continuing the long tradition of offering our patients quality care in a professional and friendly manner.
